Introducing: KickRocs Album Appraisal ratings system

The KickRocs Album Appraisal system is inspired by the rating system of what is known to us all as “girl’s best friend”, the diamond.  Diamonds are rated based on their clarity; the fewer imperfections in the stone, the more desirable it is.   A top rated diamond is rated “flawless (FL)”, while a bottom rated diamond is rated “intolerable (I)”—meaning including a lot of faulty blemishes. It’s no secret that finding anything—let alone a diamond—with no imperfections is unlikely. However, it’s not impossible, just ridiculously rare.  The same can be said for a truly classic album these days.  This is why we chose to adapt to the rating system of the world’s favorite gemstone, because to us in the hip-hop community, that’s what it’s all about…finding that everlasting gem.  We’ve kept the abbreviations, but changed the interpretations a bit to fit what we’re doing:

• FL (Flawless)
• VVS (Very very special)
• VS (Very solid)
• SI (Somewhat imperfect)
• I (Intolerable)
