Adele Goes M.I.A. Flipping the Bird at Brit Awards Show
Her voice may be sweet as can be, but don’t test Adele! No, she wasn’t missing in action from the Brit Awards last night, she was channeling the inner spirit of her fellow UK Super Bowl bird flipper, M.I.A. While Adele was giving her acceptance speech for “Album of The Year”, the host of the show decides to cut her off 20-seconds in…WTF?
Really!? No time to thank mommy dearest, no time to properly thank her fans, no time to soak up the hometown love at the biggest music awards show in her own damn country. I understand award shows run on a tight schedule and all, but this is the biggest star in the UK, she doesn’t get any perks?
Adele issued a statement to her fans afterwards to clear up who that little birdie was actually speaking to:
“I was cut off during my speech, but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support. I was held up with my voice and troubles, but the album kept walking without me. I flipped the bird for the suits at the BRITS who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.”
